Our Foundation Governors

At St Andrew's we currently have 3 Foundation Governors sitting on the Full Governing Board. The Diocese that is responsible for our school approves their appointment. For St Andrew’s this is the Diocese of Lichfield.

Foundation Governors have the same core objectives as any other member of the governing board. In addition, they have a special role in, and responsibility for, ensuring that the Christian character of a Church of England School is secured, preserved and developed.

Our Foundation Governors

Foundation Governors are involved in different ways in school and their activities include:

  • Talking to pupils about RE and Collective Worship

  • Supporting the teaching of RE

  • Delivering and evaluating our Collective Worship

  • Evaluating and exploring displays linked to RE and Collective Worship

  • Evaluating pupil voice

  • Supporting Collective Worship Themes

  • Meeting regularly with the RE & Collective Worship lead

  • And of course... praying for us
