Prayer at St Andrew's
Prayer
Prayer is a feature of our living and learning together at St. Andrew's.

We encourage children to view prayer as simply talking (and listening) to God. We provide opportunities for children and adults to pray, not just in collective worship but also through reflection areas in classrooms and around the school. We also respond in prayer when the world around us, our community, our school and individuals experience “OW” times.

Prayer is always invitational - we provide the setting and the example for children in order that they can make their own choice to participate or quietly observe and reflect for themselves.

We have a school prayer and a worship prayer that enable us to pray corporately. We are also spending this year writing prayers to create our own school prayer book.
Prayer always features during our acts of collective worship. In addition, there will be time for reflection or prayer at other times of the day, (e.g. before lunch or home time).
All of our classes have a worship/reflection/prayer space in their rooms which are a focus space for class collective worship and an area children can freely access at appropriate times for a quiet moment to think or pray.
